Website Design/Ideas

HubSpot COS

In today’s interview I get a chance to talk to Angela Hicks who works for HubSpot as part of their academy team. We discuss how important it is for companies to transform their old websites into lead generating machines. Angela and I talk about how you can build a “Frankensystem” by bolting platforms together to achieve an inbound website. We also discuss how HubSpot can be your all-in-one solution for many types of businesses looking to embrace all things Inbound.

Angela suggests you start out with a website assessment so you can figure out a couple very important things.

  1. What should we cut from our existing site?
    1. Out of date products
    2. Old employees
    3. Out of date information
  2. What do we need to build moving forward?
    1. Blog
    2. Premium Content
    3. Education center
    4. FAQ

Angela and I look at mobile optimization is now so important for websites. She shares how the HubSpot COS helps you take your site mobile in what might be the easiest way possible. She also shares a few ways you can accomplish this mobile optimized transformation.

Angela also talks about the lead conversion path for your new site. She explains how you should be using call to actions, landing pages, and thank you pages with a premium offer to generate leads. Some examples of premium content are:

  • Whitepapers
  • Checklists
  • Ebooks
  • Webinars
  • Videos

If you are interested in diving into the Inbound community or getting inspired, Angela shared several locations where you can dip your toes into the Inbound-y waters.
