FREE 230 Page Inbound and Content Marketing eBook from The Sales Lion

by Marcus Sheridan

Free ebook Inbound MarketingRecently, I passed 250,000 words here on TSL when you account for all the posts I’ve written over the past 2 years. Considering the average non-fiction book these days is about 50-75k words, that’s about 4 books worth of content, much of which newer readers will never go back and see.

Also, as the number of readers here has grown drastically in the past few months, more and more folks have been asking me if I had anything consisting of all my inbound/content marketing posts of months gone by. “Hmm” I thought, “I should really have that.” :-)

It is for this reason that I recently broke out the greatest eBook writing tool ever, Anthologize (killer free plugin that allows you to combine, edit, and publish all your old posts as an eBook very easily), and brought together every article I’ve ever written on the subjects of inbound and content marketing.

When all was said and done, the eBook came out to be about 230 pages of killer tips, experiences, stories, and real-life application of marketing principles that are an absolute imperative for any business in the 21st century.

In fact, here are the chapters of the eBook:

Ch. 1: The Vision that is Inbound Marketing

Ch. 1.5: No excuses

Ch. 2: Blogging to Make Millions

Ch. 3: The Power of Video

Ch. 4: How to Build Amazing Community

Ch. 5: Using Your Content to SELL

Ch. 6: How to Find Writing Inspiration

Ch. 7: Writing and Communication Like a Champion

Ch. 8: All About Hubspot

Ch. 9: A Look at Other Advertising Mediums

Ch.10: Web Design that Wins

Ch. 11: A Little About Twitter

Ch. 12: Further Inspiration

Ch. 13: eBooks and other ideas

Who this eBook is For:

As you can see, if you own a business, or are in marketing, this eBook was created for you. There’s no bull. No fluff. No generalities or inapplicable grand ideas. This stuff is as real as it gets.

For those of you that have been in the community here for a while now, you’ll see many articles you’ve already read. You’ll also see many articles you missed. But because every article is separated and the eBook is well organized, it will be easy for you to jump around and find only the information you’re looking for.

And It Doesn’t Cost You a Dang Thing

Oh, and did I mention it was FREE?

Yep, free. Yours to have and do whatever you’d like with. (Although it’s my hope that you’ll take it to your boss or marketing VP and force that person at gun point to read it. ;-) )

Also, by downloading this eBook, you’ll be added to my Inbound and Content Marketing Newsletter list. This is only a once-a-month publication that is directed towards hard-core inbound/content marketers and will also have a segment on latest Hubspot news as well.

As always, if you just want the eBook but aren’t interested in receiving the newsletter, just opt out at your first opportunity, it’s not a big deal at all.

This Stuff Will Change Your Life

Here is the deal folks: Inbound marketing, content, and blogging have all changed my life…drastically. This ride I’ve been on has been unbelievable these past two years and I want you to see how it happened. I want you to see how I went from being a ‘pool guy’ to a professional speaker and business coach, not because I want to brag, but rather because you’ll hopefully see just how possible the same amount of success is available to you if you’ll just follow the principles herein.

Success is within each and every one of us. Inbound and content marketing are the greatest innovation the world of business has ever seen. So do yourself a favor and jump on board. Apply the principles. And watch the magic happen.

Hey Lloyd, great to see you man. I really appreciate your incredibly kind words and I hope the eBook helps a little.

Blessings back at you my friend,

Murray Lunn October 6, 2011 at 12:36 pm

Hey Marcus,

Brilliant buddy!

I’ll probably be snagging this over the weekend and let my friend know as well because we’ll be setting up fresh freelancing websites (he’s never created one so I figure I’d help him through the process by showing him how to do it – win/win, imo).

He’ll be doing the work for his dad’s salon that he’s now working at and I’ll be doing it for freelance writing and web development since I’m moving out to Orlando and want to create a great business presence.

This is gonna come in handy; thanks for putting it together man!

Marcus Sheridan October 6, 2011 at 2:04 pm

That’s simply awesome Murray. Let me know how it goes and if you need any more help my friend.

Peace brother,

Murray Lunn October 6, 2011 at 2:06 pm

For sure!

Lots of competition in the Orlando area for my business; my buddies business has a TON of potential because the few salons around the area don’t really have a web presence and if they do – they’re not really using it for inbound stuff.

Exciting times my friend!

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:42 am

Murray, your passion is refreshing brother. Just keep that up man and you’re going to do some really, really awesome things.

Have a great weekend,

Jk Allen October 6, 2011 at 12:44 pm

Hey Marcus,

Congrats on putting this together. And of course thank you!

I’ll have to checkout that plugin. I was actually going to ask you about the process of putting the ebook together, but of course you covered that! At some point – when I can figure out some free time I’ll be joining the ebook brigade (maybe after football season and before my son’s basketball season starts). Anthologize sounds awesome and I’m going to start playing with that ASAP.

Look forward to the monthly updates. You know your stuff in this category and I see you as an authority for sure. So I really look forward to what you have to share.

The ebook is thorough man. THOROUGH! Congrats once again!

Marcus Sheridan October 6, 2011 at 2:03 pm

Appreciate that bud. I’m actually going to do a little follow up post because a bunch of folks have asked about Anthologize, so I think it will be a special ‘Saturday’ post this coming weekend.

Your support is amazing my friend.

paul wolfe October 6, 2011 at 12:58 pm

Hey Marcus

Please tell more about ‘Anthologize.’ That sounds awesome! (And I already re-subscribed with a different email address to get the eBook last week! He he he).

Marcus Sheridan October 6, 2011 at 2:00 pm

You know what Paul, it seems like lots of folks would like to learn more about it. I’m going to whip up a post for Saturday as a follow up and maybe even do a video too. Thanks for inspiration brother! (BTW, I finally started ‘my list’. Are you proud of me?? :-) )

paul wolfe October 6, 2011 at 2:04 pm

Yeah – I looked at the website and it seems fairly straightforward. Looks like a great tool.

And good work on the ‘list building’ – one of the most important steps you can take IMO.

Brankica October 6, 2011 at 2:21 pm

I am in. Getting the book and then getting the plugin :)

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:43 am

Sweet Bran! I’ve got a post about Anthologize coming out this morning with a little video tutorial as well.

Thanks for everything!!

Deb Augur October 6, 2011 at 3:27 pm

Hi Marcus!

That is SO COOL! I tried something like that a few months ago. I didn’t like the way mine turned out (it was a different service). I did think of creating it based on specific keywords (or categories) but by then I had wasted too much time on the thing. I meant to go back to it, but didn’t. LOL. Maybe I’ll try the plugin you used. Sounds easier.

I KNOW your ebook will be fantastic, so I’m going to take you up on your offer and download it. Awesome idea!

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:45 am

Hey Deb!!!! Thank you so much for your excitement here, I really appreciate it. Yeah, check out Anthologize, I’ve got a post coming out about it this morning I think you’ll like as well, with a video tutorial I whipped up also.

Keep rocking and have a great weekend!

Werner Siemens October 6, 2011 at 5:46 pm

Congrats – and thanks for the content. While its nice to stumble around a site finding new posts, this format will be a delight for a nOOb. Quick q — I see that you work with aweber … thought process behind that? I guess the logical alternative could have been mailchimp.

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:47 am

Werner, so kind of you sir. Yes, that’s exactly the goal. Instead of stumbling around, it’s all there for Noob’s.

As for aWeber, it seemed to be the one with the most positive reviews from other bloggers, and most of the biggest names seem to use it. But hey, all unchartered waters for me my friend. ;-)

Have a wonderful weekend Werner,

Adam Toporek October 6, 2011 at 11:18 pm

How very cool of you! Thanks for collecting and organizing your expertise in a handy package. I see we are already starting to see the fruits of your new schedule — awesome.

Will be signing up right now, and bookmarking that plugin!

Congrats on the ebook! I know it will be a great success.

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:48 am

Thank Adam, your support throughout this entire time has been exceptional and very much appreciated buddy.

Talk soon my friend and have an awesome weekend,

Lye Kuek Hin October 7, 2011 at 1:38 am

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:49 am

Super kind of you Lye! Hope you’re well my friend and continued success to you and the fam. :-)

Marya | Writing Happiness October 7, 2011 at 4:15 am

Marcus, this could be the answer to my (recent) prayers. :) Thank you.

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:50 am

Too sweet Marya!! I hope it will do that and more! :-)

Have a joyous weekend,

John Sherry October 7, 2011 at 5:29 am

Marcus, you’re a top chap for collating such valuable content in one resourceful e-book. It IS what we need and boy is it bumper? I’m in and I’m ready to be a traffic cop ’cause it’s going to be busy out on the business superhighway with this stuff. Champion stuff again from you!

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:58 am

Sweet John!! So pumped for you and your new direction buddy. Seriously, can’t wait to watch you do your thing. :-)

Have a wonderful weekend,

Tom Ewer October 7, 2011 at 5:44 am

Wow, Marcus, awesome. You’re quickly becoming one of my personal heroes ;)

This is going to take me quite some time to get through, but I know it will be well worth it.

Thank you so much for providing this. As you know, I only stumbled upon your blog a few months ago, so it is great to have your old, evergreen content available in such an accessible format.

P.S. Did you get my email the other day? :)

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:52 am

Dude, I don’t think I got your email. Hmmm… Could you send it again bud? Sorry if I missed it, but I really don’t remember seeing anything come through.

But thanks a million for your kind words and support regarding the eBook my friend. You’re awesome!!!

Eric Pratum October 7, 2011 at 8:23 am

Nice. That’s exciting, man. It might be an anthology, but that’s still really cool. I’m happy to see that you’re continuing to push and pump out such helpful information, Marcus.

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:53 am

Pushin and pumpin brother, and no letting up any time soon my man!! :-)

Have a great one Eric and thanks for being one of my longest supporters over these two years. :-)

Eric Pratum October 11, 2011 at 8:47 am

Thanks, man. I promote you in pretty much every inbound marketing or SEO-related presentation I give ;)

Marcus Sheridan October 11, 2011 at 10:00 am

Hahahaha, that’s so dang awesome buddy. :-)

Jason Diller October 7, 2011 at 9:47 am

Awesome stuff Marcus. I’m going to download it today. There’s probably soo much good stuff in there.

Congrats bro. Creating an ebook this big was def. an awesome idea.

You summed it up correctly. “THIS STUFF WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!”….aint that truth!?

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:55 am

Yep, it is the truth my friend!

Keep rockin that inbound marketing my friend, and make sure you keep me up to date with your happenings. :-)

Have a great weekend,

Ileane October 7, 2011 at 11:52 am

Hi Marcus, Thanks for the free ebook. I know the Hubspot info will be beneficial for me. I saw your blog listed on a post of must follow blogs. I was delighted to see that at least one from the list is part of the CommentLuv movement.

Marcus Sheridan October 8, 2011 at 8:56 am

Thanks Ileane! So kind of you and I’ve seen your stuff out there quite a few times. It rocks! And so do you ;-)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Farnoosh October 8, 2011 at 8:53 am

Hi Marcus, I am on page 100 and I have enjoyed it greatly so far — you are amazing – I don’t have time here to praise you as much as I’d like but you are just a rock star…. But I do have questions for you:
- When you say that people like to get all the posts via email, I totally understand but how do you manage it with an email newsletter? So when I first moved to Aweber from Feedburner, I was still sending every post to my list + an occasional newsletter. I noticed that it was too much and when I sent the posts, I saw more unsubscribes but when I sent the newsletter, I saw more opens and more subscribes, so then I moved to a model of sending the summary of posts.
- On your page, I noticed now you have Twitter, FB, LI, and then the Weekly Mojo: Is that your “every post in your inbox” thing? If so, how do you manage that with the newsletter? Or do you maintain two separate lists? In fact, I believe I was getting your posts on my email but then moved to RSS. Then do those people who sign up for blog posts ALSO get the newsletter?
THANK YOU for explaining this. I listened to Pat explain it once and I *think* he does *both*!
Second comment is about CommentLuv. Boy, I had that plugin for a while but it gave me so many problems; I worked with Andy – the developer – to fix it and it doesn’t like my cache plugin. I just didn’t have more time to waste on getting it to work so I might go check it again. Do you use a caching plugin?
Thanks so much, Marcus, keep shining, dear friend! Talk soon!!

Marcus Sheridan October 17, 2011 at 6:47 pm

Farnoosh, my apologies in answering this late. Here are a few answers:

I plan of more of a Pat model. I’ll have blog subscribers, I’ll also have newsletter subscribers. My reason for both is because I want the newsletter to be very ‘hard core’ inbound/content marketing stuff, not all about personal development or ‘the blogosphere’ etc.

Will this strategy work? I’m not sure, but right now it’s the plan. The newsletter will only go about 1-2 times a month. Currently, the email form on the upper right hand side of the page is for blog subscribers by email, the ones that don’t use RSS, which are many.

Again, this may change, I’ll be doing experiments, split tests, etc.

Appreciate you asking the question Farnoosh and I’ll personally update you in the future as to the results.

Thanks again for being amazing,

Farnoosh October 17, 2011 at 7:44 pm

Hi Marcus,
Right, I know about Pat’s strategy. The thing is, to use what you used more or less in your blog post today, I just don’t know if people KNOW what they don’t know ;) so they may very well want to be on your newsletter but coming here, if they see two mail box options, they may just not know. I always assume non-blogger, non-social-media, non-techie person visiting my blog and at least, the idea of newsletter is prevalent but hey, I love Pat’s newsletter and I do hope it reaches a wider audience this way …
Thanks for getting back to me, dear friend. I knew you would!!

Steve Scott October 8, 2011 at 9:31 am

Awesome stuff man! I am glad you got he ebook done! It looks awesome, I can’t wait to check it out.

Jens P. Berget October 9, 2011 at 1:52 am

Hey Marcus,

I couldn’t believe it when I read the news about this ebook. My first thought was, how in the world does he have time to write an ebook, and more than 200-pages? But, then I realize what you’ve done and that’s even better. Your content is just brilliant, and when you add it in an ebook it becomes like pure fresh content again. Adding it together and in a structure makes it different. It makes it easier to understand, and it puts everything you’ve written in a completely different perspective.

Can’t wait to read it.

- Jens

Marcus Sheridan October 9, 2011 at 11:51 pm

Of all the guys and gals I’ve met in the blogosphere Jens, you’re easily one of the nicest and kindest people I’ve ever met. Seriously I mean that and just can’t thank you enough.

Thanks for being such a breath of fresh air always my friend,

Paula Lee Bright October 9, 2011 at 3:16 am

Love to you and the family, and I’m still hoping to meet up one day at Blogworld or another conference some time soon. :)

Marcus Sheridan October 9, 2011 at 11:49 pm

This just makes me so very happy to hear Paula. The fact that I was able to help you even just a little get your business moving in the right direction is surreal. Really, I mean that. :-)

Continued success and I hope the eBook helps even further,
