3 Interviewing Skills Every Company Must Embrace with Their Video Marketing
With more and more companies embracing video marketing, the skill of in-house interviewing (from one employee to another) is becoming more and more critical. But, as you might imagine, this type of skill varies wildly from person to person.
Here at The Sales Lion, we’ve been doing more and more video with clients, and part of that process is training their content managers and videographers to become not just good, but great at interviewing their fellow employees.
In order to perform these interviews well, there are three essential skills you’ll want to master:
- The interviewer must not have the goal to personally look smart. In other words, their goal is to make the subject matter expert being interviewed appear as exactly that– an expert.
- The interviewer must see the world from the eyes of the viewer. In other words, their constant goal is to make sure the person watching the video is able to nod their head and say, “Ok. I’ve got it. I understand.”
- The interviewer must comprehend how to ask great questions– especially follow up questions to answers that ultimately lead to a clearer understanding (by the viewer) of what is being explained.
