6 HubSpot Alternatives & Competitors – what’s the next best?
It’s a question we hear A LOT in the marketing automation space.
“What if I can’t afford HubSpot?”
“What else is out there?”
“Which one is best?”
As a HubSpot partner, we obviously love HubSpot and all of the marketing automation features it offers up. They’ve set a different pace and expectation for what marketers expect to get out of their software.
They aren’t the only option, and certainly aren’t always the best fit for everyone’s needs. There are cheaper or more expensive, simpler or more robust, and easier or more difficult options out there.
In this article, I will present 6 options to consider when looking at marketing automation platforms.
Comparable options to HubSpot for SMB’s
First, we’ll cover the starter level marketing automation platforms. These are perfect for startups, small to medium sized businesses, or solopreneurs. They’re relatively inexpensive, easy to implement, and will bolster your marketing results if used correctly.
We recently sat down and spoke with Nick Steeves, CEO of Wishpond. He was being interviewed for a show called “One Last Tool” a podcast produced by The Sales Lion. They have a great sense for their customers needs and have developed an affordable platform with a huge list of integrations. Along with some other tools, Wishpond will give you tools for email marketing automation, social contests, landing page design, and form building among others. You can learn more about how Wishpond stacks up to other affordable options here.
SharpSpring was also interviewed for One Last Tool. This platform has placed a particular emphasis on tracking user behavior, giving you incredible insights, and the ability to make some really effective conversion paths. It is on the high-end of affordable options for SMB’s, but do not be fooled, the features and functionality are there. This platform furnishes you with email marketing automation (with “After-the-click” tracking), a full CRM, workflow insights, lead scoring, and many other features.
Hatchbuck has developed a solid CRM with marketing automation features. This is a platform for the entrepreneur on-the-go who needs simple, yet intuitive lead management tools. It’s affordable, lean and gives you all the base functionality you will need to turn your website into an inbound machine.Their tools are all designed to capture the best lead information and make it easily accessible and display it beautifully. We sat down with Jonathan Herrick from Hatchbuck, to talk about the platform and its features on One Last Tool.
WordPress has maintained its spot at the top of blogging platforms for some time now. There’s a huge community of developers who create plugins for the software, as well as designers who create themes and templates. The number of viable inbound marketing options that can be integrated with the software is growing every day. The best part about that? The plugins are very cheap, and WordPress itself is free. There’s a term known as “FrankenSpot” used to describe the system developers have begun to offer to recreate HubSpot’s offerings. If you’re on WordPress already or want to make the switch, check out WP Inbound Machine.
Comparable options to HubSpot for Large Companies
Now we’re entering the realm of enterprise solutions. They’re expensive, loaded with feature sets, and are backed by massive support teams. These are recommended for large marketing and sales teams.
Marketo was founded in 2006 and quickly grew into the very popular marketing automation platform it is today. They’ve even dubbed themselves the “World Leader in Marketing Automation”. Big brands trust Marketo. General Electric and Panasonic are only a couple of the large corporations who use the platform. They offer the latest and greatest features in smart content, account based marketing, social media marketing, digital ads, and closed loop reporting. They are, once again, on the high-end but offer an out-of-the-box solution for those large companies with many specific needs.
Pardot is brought to you by Salesforce, which is arguably the most popular CRM platform out. They bring the same level of sophistication and robust solutions to their marketing solution. Their main selling points are the intuitiveness of the CRM, level of support, ease of use, and integration capabilities. A quick look at their platform garners a build, visualize, and improve methodology. Included are tools for building better workflows, improving your funnels and reporting on ROI. This certainly is no discount option but comes loaded with all the latest in email marketing, lead generation and management, and sales alignment.
Reviewing HubSpot alternatives and competitors
Marketing automation has become a very competitive industry, which is great for us.
They are constantly unveiling new features and abilities that make us more effective, more personal and allow us to channel our efforts for maximum results. In turn, they can make us look really good! All platforms though, have a special set of tools, for a specific set of people. When you’re making this big decision on software, make sure you do adequate research, and verify you’re with the right solution.
