I have been presented the unique opportunity to teach a social media class to a group of high-school and college tutors. I’m adding in a variety of thought leadership/content/youtility-type lessons into the curriculum. In your humble opinion, what are some major points I really need to drive home with a group? I’m nervous since I’ve never done this before, but confident in my ability to speak the lingo and infuse some excitement into their organization. Any advice/insights you have are appreciated!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on creating different levels of content. And by that, I mean the difference between day-to-day content and potentially viral content (in my case, infographics, which take a lot longer to create!).
As a one-man operation, writing small articles takes 4-5 hours, while building an infographic can easily require 40 hours. Is it worth my time? How do I balance my focus between “long-tail keywords” and “viral”? Any tips?

Hey guys I just want to share a quick story with you. I had a lead sign up for our blog on Monday morning. I was able to see through hubspot the amount of time he spent on our site and all of the content he was reading. I’m pretty sure he read every article we have. Then I just received a call about half hour ago from this guy. He asked a ton of questions, most of them stemming from the articles he read on the site. Long story short he has been researching cornhole products for weeks and is now going with us for a custom set based on the content we have provided! I know this stuff has been working based on traffic and search results but this is the first accredited sale 100% related to everything you have been teaching! I just wanted to say thank you guys for all that you’re teaching us and I look forward to countless other stories like this one in the future. You guys are great teachers and I appreciate you sharing what you know.
I attended the Content Marketing World Conference in Cleveland in early September and took your lab that you did on the first day (Tuesday) with Ian Altman….
The reason for my email is that you said the following: “Stallions were born to run, and therefore stallions will jump the fence” (paraphrasing). That line has never left me. In fact, it keeps playing through my mind over and over again, it will not leave my thoughts. The moment you said it, a voice within me responded, I am a stallion, and I knew in that moment, I was going to jump the fence. I have no idea how, or what is going to get me there, or even where I am going, but I know without a moment of doubt that I am a stallion and I am going to jump the fence. I am sure this sounds really crazy to you!!! But it has affected me so much that I had to reach out and thank you for delivering those words to me, because they have changed or encouraged the trajectory of my life. I say this to you without any proof or inclination as to how or what this actually means and yet I just know… and I wanted to thank you, and let you know that your words have trans-formative power to the right people…
