The Hubcast Podcast Episode 042
Welcome back to The Hubcast folks, a weekly podcast all about HubSpot news, tips, and tricks. Please also note the extensive show notes below including some new HubSpot video tutorials created by George Thomas.
Great Community Email
I’ve been a long time TSL listener and when you started the Hubcast I was super excited as I had been thinking of signing up for the HubSpot partner program for a while – a long while. Well I finally did and at the same time launched my agency’s new website. Both had a lot to do with your’s and George’s teachings, thus I give last attribution to The Hubcast. 🙂
I look forward to meeting in person at Inbound.
PS: I’m writing from the Atlanta airport on my way to Nashville to be on a panel at Emma’s Marketing United conference. I paid my own way, as I know the value of speaking to people can have. Another thing I learned from you. Thank you.

HubSpot Tips & Tricks
Going Further/Beyond the Default
I was going to move on to a new tool for the Hubcast tutorials, Marcus. Then I thought to myself, One of the core goals for us here at The Sales Lion is getting people past the default. So instead of moving on, this week we will dive deeper into CTAs to help people take their CTAs to the next level.
- How to analyze your Call-to-Action (CTA) results
- How to create a smart Call-to-Action (CTA) based on lifecycle stage
- How to create a smart Call-to-Action (CTA) based on a contacts list
HubSpot Wishlist – Add Instagram to the Social Portal!
At ideas.hubspot.com this idea has 277 votes. WOW! Robbie Williams originally shared this idea:
We’re a design firm, so naturally our audience appreciates visual stimuli – Instagram is a great place to communicate & engage. It would be nice to plug our account into HubSpot 🙂
New battle, Hubcast listeners: There are a ton of votes on this one. Many people want it. So what is the hold up? Instagram API access. Let’s try something new. First, go over and yes vote it up. Second, tweet out the following tweet.
Tweet it out to the world! Well @Instagram It would be great if we could use @HubSpot to post our favorite pics. #APIProblems #Hubcast
New and Improved Reach Report
HubSpot released an updated Reach Report, featuring a new UI and better data. Now, HubSpot checks your social account numbers once a day, allowing for more accurate reporting, and the new UI is modeled after the other Social Reports.
To see the new report, go to Social > Reports > Reach. You’re used to seeing this:
But here’s what the new and improved Reach Report looks like:
Here’s what’s changed:
- HubSpot has removed the sources information, which you can still find in the Sources Report
- You can change which platforms show up in the Reach Report by clicking on them to toggle to the right of the graph
- You can also see individual channel metrics by clicking “Show” next to the platform in the table, or by using the“Filter Channel” menu at the top
More options for date ranges like the other Social Reports
