The Hubcast 46: Inbound Open Source Culture, HubSpot Keywords, & Mobile Preview
Welcome back to The Hubcast folks; a weekly podcast all about HubSpot news, tips, and tricks. Please also note the extensive show notes below, including some new HubSpot video tutorials created by George Thomas.
Hubcast Fireside Chat!
Omni Parker House
As one of Boston’s historic cornerstones, Omni Parker House displays a character as storied and unique as the town itself. With classic style, modern amenities and personalized service, we offer one of the finest experiences in the country for leisure and business travelers alike.
Mike Worley – Omni Issue
Wanted to give you a heads up that for some reason the Omni Parker is showing that it is sold out on Sept 10th but still has availability the rest of the week for Inbound. Was just about to book our room there but got this screen, no dice! I know you have been mentioning it on the podcast so thought I would give you a heads up.
Brian Singleton – Nice LinkedIn
Marcus, I’ve been loving the HubCast and actually have been sending it to new HubSpot customers as a good resource once they sign up. Thanks for all you do in the Hub community. See you at inbound!
In this week’s strategy session, we talk about the HubSpot keyword tool. For example, we address how to think about keywords, and why you need to pay attention to the ups and downs as well as filling it up for keyword research.
Support Mouseovers or Rollovers with CTAs
Add functionality to CTAs to support mouseover/rollover functionality. With the standard CTAs, this could include the ability to change the colors on rollover or add a drop shadow upon rollover. With image upload, you’d be able to add a drop shadow or add a second image as the rollover image.
Calls-to-Action are meant to get people’s attention. A cool rollover effect would definitely add a punch to your CTAs.
Mobile Preview in HubSpot template builder
It would be great if when you were building a new template inside the HubSpot design manager, you could preview devices.
Inside the Page Editor you can do this but not in the template builder. In a world that is moving to mobile first, this would be super helpful. Also, you could see instantly how your page would flow and make changes before creating a live page.
HubSpot Tips & Tricks
This week I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts. During a couple of episodes I got the hankering to do the following tips & tricks.
Cool HubSpot & Inbound Tweets
Customer asked small question, I responded with a two page email and put together a PPT deck. Turning this one into a blog post #hubspoting
